ABOUT EVERTON

Growing up in Portland, Oregon, I’ve always felt connected to the outdoors. From camping with my family as a toddler to exploring the Pacific Northwest today, I’ve grown up surrounded by high peaks, deep oceans, deserts, canyons and rivers—and with an appreciation for taking care of the places I get to enjoy.
The idea of pack it in, pack it out and leaving a place better than you found it has always made sense to me. That connection to conservation eventually led me to SOLVE, an Oregon nonprofit working to preserve and restore the places that make this region special through beach cleanups, litter removal, invasive plant removal and other volunteer efforts.
Haircutting came from a completely different place. I taught myself to cut hair because I wanted to save some money—and because I have an eye for detail and know exactly how I like things done. What started as a hobby soon became a way to spend time with friends, meet new people and put that skill toward something bigger.
Today, I donate 25% of every haircut to SOLVE while also volunteering directly with the organization. It’s a simple idea: do something I enjoy, connect with people and give a little back to the places that have given me so much. I hope to keep cutting, connecting, volunteering and contributing when I head to college.

Protecting the Places I Love
Growing up in Oregon, I’ve spent much of my life exploring the coast, mountains, forests and rivers of the Pacific Northwest. Supporting SOLVE is my way of giving back to the landscapes that have given me so much—not only by donating a portion of every haircut, but by showing up and doing the work. From beach and community cleanups to removing invasive plants along trails and caring for parks, I’m building a habit of giving back that I hope to take with me wherever I go. Whether I’m volunteering through an organization or simply leaving the places I explore better than I found them, my goal is the same: protect the outdoors so others can experience and enjoy it too.
